Community group tidies up Meldon Fields

By Sally Shipton in Community News

A COMMUNITY group in Okehampton has picked up eight bags of litter in the Meldon Fields housing estate.

The Meldon Fields Residents Group, a team of volunteers living in the town, trekked around Meldon Fields on Saturday April 8 in order to tidy the streets and pick up rubbish.

In total the team of volunteers collected eight bags of rubbish — making the estate a cleaner place for local residents and visitors.

A spokesperson for the group said: ‘Our community litter pick took place in the glorious sunshine on Saturday morning. In total we picked up eight bags of rubbish! We would like to thank all of our lovely litter pickers’
