THE end of season finals night for the Lydford Darts League was held at Bridestowe Village Hall on Friday.
All twelve sides were represented in all competitions on the night and with over 100 people there, an exciting evening was in prospect.
The evening kicked off with the team game trophy, which was won by the Village Inn.
The doubles trophy was won by Barry Medland and Steve Metherall from Bratton A, beating Tom and Andrew, the new boys in the league this year, from Blacksmith B.
The singles’ final was held on the centre board at the end of the evening between Ian Pugsley (Village Inn) and Matt Davey (White Hart B).
The first leg was won with a tremendous 131 check out by Ian but Matt staged a spirited fight back in leg two to take the match into a third and final leg.
Matt started well and soon had a large lead, which ultimately proved too big for Ian to bridge.
Congratulations and thanks were expressed to Matt and Ian for a fitting finale for the evening.
Mike Johnson (Mary Tavy) also hit an impressive 180 on the night.
The league was the tightest in years, with both Bratton A and Village Inn fighting for the top spot. Even more exciting was the fact that they had to play each other in the final game of the season.
After a 6-4 victory both teams finished level on points, but Bratton A were the league champions on games won.
The Knockout Cup was won by the Village Inn over a determined Fox and Hounds team, who brought a bus load of supporters.
The highest check out of the season was 151, by Brian Westlake (Arundell Arms).
Mark Watson, spokesperson for Lydford Darts League would like to thank all teams for their continued support of the league and said he looked forward to seeing everyone next September for the start of the new season.
