OKEHAMPTON Rugby club rounded off a hugely successful season for the club with their annual awards and presentation evening at the clubhouse.
The first team had a fine season, finishing mid table in their first season back at level six in South West one, ending up as highest placed Devon side. They also reached the final of the Devon Senior Cup for only the third time, putting in a fantastic effort, narrowly ending in defeat against an experienced Brixham side, regulars at the top end of the league above.
The seconds won Devon Merit table one for the first time ever, a superb achievement, suffering only one defeat throughout the whole season. Beating the likes of national league outfits Barnstaple and Exmouth along the way.
The colts had a mixed bag of results but have blooded many promising youngsters for the future, while the club also reformed a thirds/ Legends side for the first time in may years, a reflection of the increase in numbers and quality amongst the club’s senior ranks.
