Latest crime in the Tavistock area #newsfromtheblues

A THEFT from a Yelverton boutique and vandalism at a primary school are featured in this week’s #newsfromtheblues crime page.

• POLICE are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious on June 23 at Beau Ladies Boutique and Tea Room at Leg O’Mutton, Yelverton. A theft occurred between 1pm and 1.35pm. Two customers and the shop owner were in the shop at the time of the theft. Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting CR/051182/17.

• Burglars made off with £50 worth of cash, luggage and a silver chain with silver antique box between 9.30am and 1.30pm on June 20 from a cottage at Two Bridges. Call police on 101 quoting CR/050798/17 with any information you may have.

• Drivers of a blue Vauxhall Vectra stole £35 worth of petrol from Morrisons Petrol Station, Tavistock, on June 24 at 6.30pm. CR/050669/17.

• Police are appealing for witnesses after St Andrew’s Primary School in Buckland Monachorum was the target of vandalism. A galvanised steel bracket was ripped from the school wall between 00.01am on June 23 and noon on June 24. Anyone who saw anything suspicious should contact the police on 101 quoting CR/051222/17.

• Criminal damage was caused to a property on Parkwood Road, Tavistock, between 5.30pm on June 25 and 9am on June 26. The end of the gate at the property was damaged by force. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting CR/052052/17.

• Police are appealing for information after a Ford Focus was damaged by unknown means whilst parked in Chollacott Lane, Tavistock, on June 28 between 7pm and midnight. The windscreen wipers and wing mirrors were smashed. CR/052363/17.

• Luggage containing a laptop and clothes, and a shopping bag, were stolen from the bus stop on the A386, Tavistock, on Saturday, June 24 between 3.30pm and 3.35pm. If you have any information call police on 101 quoting CR/050611/17.

• A SILVER pot containing a religious item, believed to be the bone of a saint, were stolen from Tavistock’s Roman Catholic Church overnight from July 1 to July 2.

Cash totalling £45 along with the silver pot, which contained the religious artefact, were stolen during the burglary. The artefact has no value other than to people using the church.

Police are asking for information about these stolen items or anything in relation to the burglary, it is also requested that residents who live in properties that back onto the church grounds check their garden sheds as there is the possibility that items used in this burglary have been stolen from an address nearby.
