Radio yachts

THE Dartmoor Radio Sailing Club were the hosts for two events last weekend at Shaugh Lakes, near Cadover Bridge.

At the request of the National Association, it held two inaugural events for two classes of radio controlled sailing yachts. On Saturday there was an open traveller competition for the Dragonforce 65 class yachts, and on Sunday one for the new Dragonflite 95 class yachts. Competitors came from parts of the country to take part.

Results: Dragonforce 65 — 1, John Tushingham, from Keighley; 2, Nigel Broome, Gosport; 3, Tim Long, from Abersoch; 4, Ken Binks, Eastbourne; 5, Wayne Stubbs, from Portsmouth; 6, Liz Tushingham, from Keighley. Other competitors came from Gosport, Colehouse Fort, and Chipstead. There were 22 entries, 13 of which were local DRSC members.
