Old Chapel Wedding Fair
Wednesday, 08 February 2012
The Old Chapel at Calstock is quite simply beautiful.
Situated on the Cornish bank of the River Tamar this historic 1910 structure has been sympathetically and imaginatively restored Accommodating 120 guests its spacious yet intimate interior is a serene and inspiring environment ideally suited to Wedding ceremonies and receptions. A breathtaking surprise on entering is the magnificent contemporary wall of glass designed by architect Stephen Whettem to harmonise with the original stained glass windows revealing the Devon bank beyond the river. We provide a dedicated personal service giving full support during the planning phase including preliminary viewings and advice regarding your requirements. Local suppliers may be sourced for many of these and all is ably facilitated by our Rentals Manager Lily Russell. She will enjoy ensuring a smooth-operating memorable occasion. Ally and Simon, married here in 2011, found the venue ‘welcoming and spiritually uplifting’ and our bespoke service ‘positive, supportive and professional’. Lily and Tony had ‘a fantastic party with bar and buffet following our lovely wedding’. One of our couples delighted in taking the ferry downriver to Cotehele for their reception. The Old Chapel celebrates its First Anniversary as a Licencee for Civil Ceremonies with a Wedding Fair on 26 February when it will be dressed in all its finery. All are welcome, whether to browse the stalls, drink the complementary fizz [first 50 guests], take refreshment in our cafe or just enjoy this very special place.
