TAVISTOCK GUTTERING AND FASCIAS BY COLIN CLARKE AND SON
We are proud to announce that we have a new member to our team Mr Rick Stephens. Rick stepped in to help out when I had my Triple Heart Bypass (unexpectedly). Rick has got stuck in and now he is a valued member of our team. I now have more time to concentrate on surveys and paperwork until I am fit for work again. In the meantime, my son Martin has been a god send to me and the business. He took everything in his stride and tackled every aspect of the business, carrying on without any problems. He did all of this knowing his old man is about to have a Heart Bypass operation. I cannot thank you enough and thank you Rick for joining us at such a crucial time.
THANKS MARTIN AND RICK I JUST HOPE I AM NEEDED BACK WHEN I AM FIT FOR WORK
A CHANCE TO SAY THANKS
I want to have the chance to say thanks and to pre warn all other readers of this article.
First the thanks -
Thank you to Julie my wife, Hayley, Martin and Mandy, my kids for constantly NAGGING me to go to the doctors. “You know what it’s like lads, it’s just a pulled muscle” “I’ve no time for that I’m self employed” “It’s nothing, I’ve never had a day off sick and I don’t intend to start now” “I’m always injuring myself at work you just get on with it”
WELL DON’T take it from me now LIVING PROOF DON’T IGNORE THE SIGNS
Get to your doctor for a check up or pay for a “well man check up”. If I didn’t get checked out I would be DEAD. Thank you to Dr Porter for getting me in to hospital even though I insisted I felt just fine, I thought what a waste of time but Dr Porter was spot on.
Thank you to all the hospital staff who put up with me from the waiting around to the after care, the nurses, the Doctors, the surgeons and not forgetting the staff who kept me going with a brew at regular intervals!
I’m going to be off work for about 8-10 weeks to recover but, in the words of ARNIE, I’LL BE BACK!” Brighter and louder than before.
THANK YOU ALL, Colin Clarke
RAISING MONEY AND PUTTING SOMETHING BACK
I was so impressed with every one at Derriford Hospital on Bickleigh Ward and Clearbrook Ward where I was looked after as I saw first hand that the staff are under so much pressure’ I’ll never take for granted the work they all do ever again. They work so hard under impossible conditions that I would like to give something back and have since been in touch with HEARTSWELL SOUTH WEST, a charity that raise money to put back towards the needs of Cardio wards.
I am now on a personal crusade to raise as much money as I can to get equipment for these wards, I’m going to set about this in three ways -
1. I have a team of volunteers who want to climb the three highest peaks in Britain:- Ben Nevis Scotland, Scafell Pike England and Snowdonia Wales, collecting money on the way if possible.
2. I am forming a band comprising of myself, Colin Clarke, my daughter Mandy Lillicrap and my son in law Sam Lillicrap. The band is going to be called TRIPLE BY PASS for some strange reason! We intend to perform in the three pubs at the bottom of each peak which we hope will take place May or June of next year giving myself time to get fit enough to carry out the task.
3. In the meantime I intend to go out as a solo pub entertainer under my own name Colin Clarke performing a range of 60’s oldies, Rock n’Roll, Country with some Cabaret and a little bit of the Irish music. I will be joined by other guest singers from time to time and will be on hand for any bookings offered by local landlords or land ladies from August or before as long as I am recovered properly.
To book me for your pub entertainment call Colin on 01822 832298 or mob 07887 907010 Money will be raised at the bookings for the charity HEARTSWELL SOUTH WEST YOU CAN DONATE ON LINE BY GOING TO www.justgiving.com/colinclarkesingforyourlife
Look forward to seeing you at the local
