One Year Under Our Belt
Atlas SW Ltd is pleased to celebrate its first year in operation, with business going from strength to strength. Recently employing another local operative, we have two teams working independently, offering a fast and efficient service in asbestos removal. The Company Alan Townend, the Director of Atlas SW Ltd said “we are a local company providing global solutions”. Atlas SW Ltd has settled in Tavistock, and is looking forward to further expansion. Our team have many years’ experience, are professional and efficient providing a safe and thorough service. Atlas SW Ltd are fully licensed by the Health and Safety Executive (having recently been granted a full 3 year license) to deal with all types of Asbestos removal and remedies and have received accreditation from EXOR as well as Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). Alan has worked in the Asbestos removal business since 1991 and has managed many projects ranging from small private works to large projects within high security prisons. He was responsible for the whole of Bradford City Council owned properties amounting to 27,000 plus public buildings and schools and worked with diverse groups including elected members, school governors, ethnic minorities and the ministry of defence. Asbestos Asbestos has been highlighted in the news more recently, and can be an issue people are likely to encounter at some stage. The general public are more aware of the dangers related to Asbestos and Atlas SW Ltd is here to help with the removal/encapsulation of this dangerous substance. Asbestos comes in many forms from soffits, pipework insulation, wall panels, external roofs, outbuildings particularly garages (often found when moving home or renovating an existing property); it can also be found in textured coatings used in decoration. All forms have the potential to cause irreversible fatal health problems if not handled in the correct manner. Legislation The legislation relating to Asbestos is immense, not only covering its removal but the disposal also, which has to be done so that no contamination is caused; this is second only to the nuclear industry with the amount of regulation needing to be complied with.
Previous Projects Atlas SW Ltd have worked on a vast range of projects including Hospitals, Schools, Railways (including railway carriages) Local Authorities, Hotels and similar establishments as well as the National Trust, and private householders. Alan said “the team are very experienced in what they do; therefore our clients feel each project, small or large, has been completed to the highest level, with protocol followed implicitly. Our aim is to leave our customer feeling assured and satisfied at the completion of the job.” Contact We are based at No 7 Atlas House, on the West Devon Business Park.
