Helen Samson-Hill
We tend to take our feet for granted ...until they start causing us problems and pain! If you glance down at your feet when you are walking along, what do you see? - feet turned out? - feet turned in? - a bunion developing? - flat feet? To start with these things can cause no discomfort, but over time other problems develop as as our feet becoming painful? - Turned out feet can bring on bunions, knee and hip problems - Turned in feet can also cause knee and hip pain - The small bunion can develop so that your walking becomes affected due to the discomfort -?And flat feet (dropped arches) can lead to joint pain even as far as into your back. I frequently work with people whose discomfort originates from what is going on in their feet. Soft tissue release and massage alongside an exercise programme can alleviate many of these problems. It is very rewarding to see clients return with a smile on their face and a bounce in their step! For information and appointments call Helen Samson-Hill on 01822 615812
Restore and revive Body, Mind and Spirit!
Yoga is an ancient science which works with the body, breath and mind through a variety of exercises and techniques. It offers a rich variety of tools to help us manage and overcome the challenges in our lives with greater ease and insight. Modern science now confirms the benefits of Yoga in the fields of stress management, cardiac recovery, management of chronic illness, postural and back related problems, and in the alleviation of mild depression and anxiety. Satyananda Yoga offers a complete system for body and mind, helping us towards a state of greater balance, relaxation and meditation. This helps us get in touch with our innate creativity and joyfulness, and gives us a greater sense of meaning in our lives. Techniques taught in class include posture work (asana), breath work (pranayama) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) or meditation. Suryananda is an experienced Yoga Teacher and Therapist, who has worked extensively within the NHS and privately. Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities. Reflexology
Well it looks like summer has finally arrived and most of us feel instantly better in our bodies. For the last few weeks I have been finding that with many of my clients certain points on their feet, that deal with adaption to the seasons and indeed their body clock, have been definitely out of balance. It just goes to show how much we need some sun to be healthy and balanced in our bodies. Reflexology can help us to be balanced all year round and most of my clients find positive benefits in regular reflexology treatments. Reflexology is the ancient Chinese art of foot massage. It works on the concept of energy flowing through the body. The reflexologist accesses this energy via points on the feet or hands and helps to release blockages and restore the free flow of energy through the body. This eases tensions in the body, aids circulation and improves elimination. Reflexology helps to restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium and encourages healing. Reflexology treats the whole person not just the symptons. I have been a practising reflexologist for 27 years and have a wealth of experience. Having said that I am still constantly learning. People are all so wonderfully different and individual. If you would like to book an appointment or chat to see how reflexology may help you, please contact me: Annie Cooke BA, MAR 01822 613286 Vouchers and home visits are available
