Chance for free adult courses
Wednesday, 09 May 2012
A SERIES of free courses are being offered for adults in Okehampton and Tavistock to help celebrate Adult Learning Week between May 12 to 19.
Devon County Council's Adult and Community Learning Service is running the courses which have been designed to attract a wide spread of interest, and include subjects such as art and craft, computing, languages, creative writing, photography and more. Booking forms are to be completed at least a week in advance of the course dates.
Councillor Roger Croad, the council’s cabinet member for communities, said: ‘Adult Learning Week is a great opportunity for people to try a course at no, or very little cost. These popular courses are a wonderful introduction to subjects, and are often a first step towards people enrolling on longer courses that might include professional qualifications.
The full list of courses and where they are being held can be seen online at www.devon.gov.uk/adultlearning along with a booking form.
