THIEVES have stolen a significant amount of money and hair dressing equipment from an Okehampton hairdressers, with a spate of tool thefts also hitting the Okehampton area.

• A SIGNIFICANT amount of money and hair dressing equipment was stolen from a business on East Street in Okehampton.

Thieves smashed a ground floor side window and exited the same way. The crime took place between 8pm on January 17 and 8am on January 18/ CR/005219/18.

• Power tools worth £500, and telephone equipment, was stolen from a white Ford Transit van, which was parked secure and unattended, on Station Road in Meeth. Entry was gained to the vehicle by unknown means, between 6.10pm on January 17 and 6.20am on January 18. CR/005225/18.

• A Ford Transit, parked on Victoria Road in Hatherleigh, had power tools, and its car radio, stolen between 5.30pm on January 17 and 8am on January 18. Entry was gained by the side and back doors. CR/005228/18.

• Tools, worth £800 in total, were stolen from a grey Peugeot Expert van between 9pm on January 17 and 8.15am on January 18, while parked on Bridge Street in Okehampton. Entry was gained by rear doors which were forced open. Equipment stolen included a nail gun, drills and hand tools. CR/005231/18.

• Thieves stolen £500 in cash from a business on Stannary Court, Exeter Road, in Okehampton. Entry was gained to the premises through the fire door between 5.15pm on January 17 and 10.10am on January 18. CR/005272/18.

• A work premises on Exeter Road in Okehampton was entered between 5pm on January 17 and 7am on January 18. It was reported that people entered the premises through a rear locked door. Police are undertaking CCTV enquiries and looking for witnesses. CR/005205/18.

• A man picked up alcohol from the Coop in Market Street, Okehampton, placed within a rucksack and left without paying, between 6,54 and 6.56pm on January 17. CR/005145/18.

• Damage was caused to a padlock at Okehampton Pet Supermarket on School Way by unknown means between 1am and 1.08am on January 18. CR/005197/18.
