WORKS by Vivaldi and Handel will be among the pieces performed by Okehampton Choral Society at its spring concert on Saturday, May 4.

The concert at Fairplace Church is entitled Gloria and the programme is full of thrilling music, including two of Handel's coronation anthems, Vivaldi's Concerto for two trumpets, and Mozart's Coronation Mass.

The four visiting soloists for the concert are soprano Christine Marsden, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Smith, tenor John Colpsy-Wood and bass David Fouracre.

As usual, the choir will be accompanied by the Ockment Chamber Orchestra of more than 20 visiting professional players, led by Paul Matthews. The conductor is John Holland.

Tickets are available from the Beanfeast in the Arcade. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
