SEVERAL hundred visitors with ages ranging from two or three to those in their 80s, were at the Victory Hall in South Zeal on Sunday, to show their appreciation to Elspeth Brint for her 17 years of work with the village's pre-school organisation.

A 'drop-in-and-say-goodbye' organised by the pre-school group leader Sharon Cooper and her colleagues proved a tremendous success, with adults including mothers and grandmothers who could remember the start of the group several decades ago, and young mothers who had attended pre-school as children and were now taking their own toddlers along.

Elspeth said she would still be associated with parish, church and pre-school events.
