STAFF at Somerfield took part in a daring leg wax and head shave to help raise money for a charity of their choice last weekend.

A total of £320 was raised for CLIC Sargent when five members of staff braved getting their heads shaved, and three members had their legs waxed, including trading manager of Somerfield, Mark Westlake, pictured here on the table.

A passing customer also participated and donated £10 to have his legs waxed.

A cake stall, collection boxes and hand-held buckets also helped raise £180, which went toward the total amount.

Chilled supervisor at Somerfield Kirsty Reynolds expressed thanks to all who participated in the event.

She said: 'We are really pleased with how much we made and would like to especially thank E-clips in Okehampton, as well all the staff, including the customer who took part.

'We will be sponsoring CLIC Sargent for six months and will continue to raise money for other charities in the future.'

A quiz night will be held on Friday, June 4 from 8pm at the Conservative Club in aid of CLIC Sargent. Everyone is welcome to come along.
