A SPECIAL phoneline has been set up in Tavistock to provide ‘A Listening Ear’ for anyone who is alone or wants to chat.
‘Although we are living through difficult days the people of Tavistock as in many other areas are “in it together” to look after one another and especially the self-isolating and vulnerable,’ said David Palmer, chair of ROC Tavistock.
‘We have worked with the Tavistock Locals Help group and TACT churches to set up what is called “A Listening Ear” service for anyone who is alone or who wants to chat.
‘It is manned by Christians from local churches for anyone who needs to talk, be listened to or cheered up and also provides an offer of Christian hope and prayer to anyone who wants it.
‘You can access this service free on 0800 774 7238 between 10am and 5pm any day of the week. We are all working and praying to see a quick end to the coronavirus with a huge thank you to all the locals who are doing their bit to see it beaten.’
