RESIDENTS of Drewsteigntion are all geared up for Teignton Fayre, which takes place in the village square on Saturday, June 7. The annual event helps to raise money for local good causes, with some of the funds raised this year going towards a community access defibrillator. There are all sorts of traditional and new attractions for the whole family, including a movie character themed fancy dress, a bouncy castle, through to a slippery pole and a live human fruit machine. There will be plenty of food to enjoy including a hog roast and barbecue as well as vegetarian options, puddings, cakes and ice creams. Throughout the evening, local bands Moob, Dust 'n Bones and Shedmanshed will perform for the crowds. 'Teignton Fayre is a lively event, fun for visitors and residents alike,' said Sam Peirce, a member of the Teignton Fayre committee. 'It's also a great opportunity to bring the community together. Events such as this help keep the village alive.' The fayre starts at 5pm.
