AN entertainer who helps to put smiles on the faces of children will be passing through Okehampton as he tackles a mammoth, solo 958-mile bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in support of a national children’s charity.
Joe Carswell, children’s entertainer and supporter of The Flying Seagull Project — a charity operated by a group of young actors, artists and musicians who visit children that are disadvantaged, disabled or marginalised to hold workshops and shows designed to help childhood development, improve emotional wellbeing and give support through laughter — will start his journey from Land’s End on July 25 and will be stopping in Okehampton for the evening.
He is determined to help the Seagulls to continue in their Laugh-olution and is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the charity.
Joe said: ‘The laughter, smiles and happiness that I see every week at parties deserves to be felt by every child.’
Joe is hoping someone in Okehampton will be kind enough to offer him a bed and a hot meal before he sets off on the rest of his journey the following day.
