REDDAWAYS Removals has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award for the fourth year running.

The firm, based in South Zeal, has been shortlisted for the British Association of Removers Domestic Remover of the Year competition.

Reddaways is the only firm to have reached the final of the competition every year since it started in 2009, and is hoping to be there again for a fourth consecutive time in May. The firm will find out if it has made the final on April 2.

The good news comes shortly after Reddaways relocated its offices at the beginning of March. It left the original office, which has served the company well for the past 30 years, to move into a newly converted office building in the centre of the firm's removal yard.

In the past the building acted as a changing room for the village football club, housed cattle and sheep, and for storing packing materials. Now the building is ideally equipped for the firm's office needs.

The office was opened by the British Association of Removers president Reg Hackworthy, and the director general Stephen Vickers.

Director Geoff Clinch said: 'The opening of the new office is a really important occasion for us.

'By having the office centrally located within our yard, it has allowed us to create an environment which is welcoming for our customers and also creates a more efficient workplace for our staff.

'We hope the opening of the new office is the start of a successful chapter for Reddaways, and everyone is keeping their fingers crossed that we will once again do well in the Domestic Mover of the Year competition, as this is always a great testament to the fantastic job all our staff do to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service possible.'
