FIREFIGHTERS in Chagford had an unusual call-out on Monday October 17, when they had to rescue a trapped kitten.

One appliance from Chagford was mobilised to a report of a cat trapped in a chimney at a property in Manor Road. Watch Commander Moor was in charge of the incident.

The crew found the kitten had trapped itself behind the fireplace. They removed the fireplace to locate the family pet, before rescuing it.

Following its soot-coated ordeal, the kitten was reunited with its owner.
