OKEHAMPTON and District Lions Club held its first annual ladies golf day at the Ashbury Golf Hotel courtesy of Mr and Mrs Simon Essex recently.

The inaugural event attracted more than 40 golfers to the three ball stableford on the par 67 Oakwood Course.

The event raised more than £1,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Lions would like to thank Mr and Mrs Essex and staff for their generosity and help with the day, the prize sponsors and all who took part and helped to make the event such a success.
