SNOW and windy weather did not deter 19 Shebbear College students from taking part in their Ten Tors training last weekend.
Members from the 35, 45 and 55-mile teams had a full day of hiking and navigation training, starting and finishing at Okehampton Camp as they will at the real event in May.
The teams explored the north of the moor, from Shilstone to Yes Tor. They were tested by the adverse weather conditions, but showed the resilience they will need to complete the two-day challenge.
Bursar Bradley Horn explained what he felt was behind the college's recent successes at the event: 'I put it down to the commitment of the pupils to their training. Being local helps, as long drives before and after training must be a serious challenge to those further afield.
