KENT House was the scene for a wonderful family celebration last week, as Harold and Doris Bradley celebrated their platinum — 70th — wedding anniversary. Harold, aged 90, and Doris, 93, were joined by their daughter Caroline, grand-daughter Jo-Anne, great grandson Ryan and other friends and family during their platinum celebrations on April 9. The couple met during World War Two. Harold was stationed on the Isle of Wight, and met Doris at a dance. After enjoying each other's company, Harold walked Doris home, and they married at Carisbrooke Church on April 8, 1944. Their dedication to each other is unwavering to this day. Doris lives at Kent House Care Home, and Harold, who lives in Okehampton, travels to the home each day to spend time with his beloved wife. They celebrated the big day with food, drinks and cake, and the couple received a congratulatory message from the Queen.
