WHAT a wonderful event this year's Edwardian Evening was. Okehampton town centre displayed our fantastic festive lights, the shops were busy and the town just teemed with people. There was a lovely happy atmosphere and the weather was kind so people stayed down town and enjoyed the music, the carols and the food and drink on offer. Father Christmas in the museum was visited by over 100 children. So congratulations to our Chamber of Trade for their hard work. There are now over 80 members and although these are not all retailers — it really shows that the town is pulling together to make Okehampton a vibrant centre once more. Now we have to think how to make next year even better! Jan Goffey Okehampton
