Second XI E (E)
North Devon v Chagford seconds
CHAGFORD seconds were dealt a lesson at North Devon, as after amassing 383 the previous week, it was after the Lord Mayor"s show comes the dustman's kart as on Saturday they were dismissed for just 84 in 32.1 overs.
Wickets were lost at regular intervals and the only bright spark was 14-years Billy Searle, following his maiden century last week, again stood firm as wickets crashed around him. Opening the batting he was ninth out for 33 with the score at 78. Cooke 3-11, Kelly 4-18 and O'Donnell 3-20 were the wicket takers.
North Devon made this look easy as Veteran Heaman and Richard Clarke put on 76 for the first wicket, when Clarke was out for 24, Knapman followed at 82 but skipper Tom Stanton saw them home to an eight wicket victory with Heaman not out 42 and making batting look very easy.
Chagford are still top of the league but obtaining just one point for this defeat was a major disappointment for skipper Simon Snell.
