PLANS are already in motion for the 2008 Devon Festival of Remembrance.

The event will be held at the The Great Hall, University of Exeter on Thursday, November 6 and will start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £6 for Royal British Legion members, £8 for non-members and can be ordered in advance at the Okehampton branch and social club.

The Okehampton branch has also arranged for a coach to take members, their families and friends to the festival.

It will leave Martin's Newsagent on Fore Street at 6pm — coach tickets cost £4 each.

Tickets must be purchased and coach seats reserved at the RBL Social Club on Station Road no later than Wednesday, September 24.

This year's festival will feature the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines from the Commando Training Centre, Lympstone and a short performance by the Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society will also be scheduled.

This year's event will mark the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

In addition to remembering the fallen of that conflict, it will also pay tribute to the sacrifices of Britain's Armed Forces in wars throughout the 20th century and include the current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
