OKEHAMPTON College PTFA is celebrating an outstanding year for both the group and the school.

In the year that the college has received outstanding status from Ofsted, the PTFA group has had an especially prosperous year itself.

The group gave £350 to the drama department for the hire of costumes for the performance of Les Miserables. The design and technology department received £1,575 to purchase three visualisers, while funds for the college library will fund a visit from author Marcus Sedgwick.

A Lego programme has been purchased for the IT department, while a student based English conference will be supported with a £200 donation. The college's award evenings were also supported with a £1,500 contribution.

The PTFA has expressed thanks to everyone who has supported past activities like the craft fair in the Charter Hall during Edwardian Evening and the Ashbury Hotel evening in January, including Mr and Mrs Essex who allowed the PTFA free use of their facilities.

Among the future events for the PTFA is a coffee morning on June 21 at All Saints Parish Hall.

The PTFA is currently a small team, and it needs more members to keep up successful fundraising and organising. If you would like to join or fundraise for the PTFA contact Dawn Pitts at Quinns Hairdressing or ring the school on 01837 650910 and leave a message for Carol Chapman.
