OKEHAMPTON U9s entered the Exeter, Countess Weir five a-side football tournament and came away with their heads held high, after progressing to the final and finishing runners-up to a very strong Exeter Central Side.

In the group stages of the tournament Okehampton were undefeated with two draws and a win.

The performance of the day by Oke came in their final group match against Walterdaw A. Argyle U9s needed a win or draw to progress to the semi finals.

They went a goal behind but showed a real fighting spirit to come back and tie the game scoring their best goal of the day with some slick inter-passing.

Oke then went on to play Walterdaw B in the semi-finals producing a very commanding performance to win 2-0.

The whole squad played their part in a great team effort. Credit to the new U10s coaches Steve Parsons and Steve Close, who were both pleased with their first matches in charge.
