AWARD winning artist Diane Bailey and reknowned printmaker Marielle Ebner-Rijke will be displaying their most recent work at the National Trust’s Castle Drogo as part of Devon Open Studios this year, adding a new experience for visitors alongside the castle’s continuing renovations.
There will be a variety of original paintings, prints, drawings and cards depicting creatures, particularly those indigenous to Devon and its moorland.
Diane and Marielle have very different styles and their contrasting techniques promise to provide a lively and exciting show.
Diane’s striking vibrant paintings are both intuitive and thoughtful, while Marielle’s work comprises of strong monochrome prints and charcoal drawings.
They are united by their respect and love for the natural world and hope to share their enthusiasm for art and wildlife with visitors to the castle.
One or both of the artists will be at the Artists’ Studio Hut near the castle entrance every day and look forward to welcoming visitors, answering questions about their work and talking about their inspirations and processes.
The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm every day and is free to the public.
