THE village of Throwleigh will host an art and crafts exhibition on August 2 and 3. The village's church and Church House will be the setting for the event. 'We decided it was about time we held another art event', said Anne Stephen-Hodge, who is part of the Friends of Throwleigh Church group who are organising the event.  'Five years ago we held an art and music festival, and it was such a success that we wanted to do something along the same lines, but different.' On Saturday morning, Anabelle Reynolds will be playing her harp. On both afternoons, Caya Edwards will be demonstrating the art of spinning on her wheel and visitors are welcome to have a go. A wide range of artwork will be on display and for sale including hand-made books, watercolours, pastels, ceramics, photography and woven textiles. Church House field will also be open to visitors and this is the place to see some open air art, as well as fabulous views of Throwleigh Common. Caya Edwards said: 'We are an enthusiastic group who care about our church and want to see it used in new and imaginative ways. We have hosted a number of music events and organised walks and talks, all either starting from, or held in the church. In return, we have been able to fund a number of really worthwhile projects.'  The exhibitions runs from 10am to 5pm daily.
