A FIREFIGHTER from Chagford has been recognised at County Hall in Exeter for his long service to the force.

Kevin Coombe joined the service in 1992 as a firefighter at Chagford Fire Station. In 1999 he was promoted temporarily to leading firefighter, and in 2000 this role became substantive. In 2004 he was promoted to sub-officer before returning to the role of firefighter in 2006, still serving today at Chagford.

Mr Coombe is pictured at a recent awards ceremony at County Hall where he received the Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct medal from Eric Dancer, Lord Lieutenant of Devon.
