OKEHAMPTON Excelsior Silver Band lived up to their name at the 89th West of England Bandsmen's Festival, held in Bugle on June 15.
The band won the Deportment Trophy for the second year running, ensuring the Sir Charles Cottier Cup travelled back home with them.
The band also worked hard to win the John Batten Memorial Trophy for coming third in the fourth section, playing Petit Suite de Ballet by Eric Ball.
The band expressed thanks to Richard Beardon for leading them, Val Isaac, Julie Hood, Hannah Beardon and Tori Isaac for their help throughout the day.
