THREE Okehampton College students are looking for support to help them participate in a charity trip to Bulgaria.
Jessica Wonnacott, Sophie Compton and Emily Isaac are organising a quiz night at Halwill Village Hall on Saturday, December 7. The evening will raise funds for the trio to take part in the college's 2014 trip to Barzitsa Orphanage in Bulgaria.
Co-ordinated by the college and the House of Rachel charity, a group of sixth formers visits the orphanage each year to run workshops in sports, crafts and music to boost the children's self-esteem.
These workshops are a fun way to develop new social and vocational skills and prevent the children from getting involved with crime.

Wartime letters inspire Okehampton writer's novelJessica said: 'We want to hold fundraising events like the quiz, and other means of fundraising like car-boot sales and coffee mornings, which will help to fund the trip and well as making as much profit as possible which we can then give direct to the House of Rachel charity.
'When we go, we will take a variety of toys, games and gifts for the children, just to brighten their day.'
