BELSTONE Cricket Club's Rew Meadow ground have replaced their all-weather pitch.

After 15 years of use the old pitch was showing considerable signs of wear and tear, with large holes in the synthetic material around the creases.

The new facility will not only benefit the Belstone club, who are currently top of the North Devon League division four, and their active Colts section, but also Sticklepath Cricket Club, who now play their home matches at Rew Meadow.

The club received over half of the £5,500 necessary to pay for the replacement pitch through grants and donations from West Devon Borough Council, the EX20 Lottery, Okehampton Educational Foundation, the Sticklepath and Belstone School Trust, the Norman Family Charitable Trust, Okehampton Rotary Club and Okehampton Round Table.

The club expressed thanks to all the donor organisations, as without their generosity the pitch could not have been relaid.
