HEALTH and wellbeing services that could help people recovering from major medical treatment will be the subject of a special event hosted by the Lydford House Hotel later this month.

The event has been organised by fundraiser David Hocking to support the Derriford Hospital Oncology Department.

After treatment for cancer, David felt severe post-treatment fatigue for 18 months. Following alternative treatment, he felt back to his old self within a few days.

'I was of the opinion when I tried the treatment, I'd just give it a go. Within a few days, it felt like I'd been plugged into the mains and was full of energy again,' said David.

'After my wife Alison fell off her horse and suffered a bad concussion, she saw an osteopath and she worked wonders. She really helped with her balance, cognitive functions and speech. The event is designed so people can learn more about what these sort of services can do for them.'

Osteopaths, homeopaths and a nutritionist will be among those giving informative and informal talks and demonstrations. Those in attendance will have a chance to talk to health representatives at the event.

The event runs on Saturday, April 27 from 1pm to 4pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available from David Hocking on [email protected]">[email protected] or 07899 916959. The event has been sponsored by the Lydford House Hotel and Claremont Marquees Ltd.
