HALLWILL Baptist Church marked its 125th birthday recently, in a joint weekend event which also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the hall.

On the Saturday, there were skittles, ice cream, a bouncy castle, cream teas and music provided by Northlew Silver Band.

The following day there was a high tea and a Songs of Praise in the church.

There were two cakes — the church's celebration cake was cut by longest standing member of the congregation, Margaret Fry, and Rebekah Hill, representing the young people of the church.

The hall's anniversary cake was cut by Gladys Vanstone, who opened the hall 25 years ago.
