THE Rt Rev Nick McKinnel, Bishop of Plymouth, will be visiting Okehampton and surrounding areas this weekend.

The bishop, who is well known to many in the area when he was Vicar of Hatherleigh in the 1990s, will be visiting the Okehampton Deanery from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2.

This is part of the Exeter Diocese ‘Bishops in Mission’ initiative to join with and serve the people of Devon.

This is an opportunity to find out all that is happening in the Deanery Churches and the Exeter Diocese and its vision for the future.

During his visit the bishop will be having breakfast at the Okehampton Golf Club, speaking at a coffee morning at Meldon Village Hall, taking part in a quiz evening at Sampford Courtenay Village Hall, as well as celebrating holy communion at Belstone and Hatherleigh and ending the weekend with a service of celebration for Passion Sunday at North Tawton.
