A MAJOR TV producer will shine a light behind the scenes of long-running children’s TV programme, Blue Peter, when he delivers a talk in Sampford Courtenay.

Alex Leger, producer of the children’s classic BBC show Blue Peter for 36 years, will share his experiences at Sampford Courtenay Village Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 10.

Village hall committee member John Palmer said: ‘Over the past few years  our Hall has become a really successful centre for a wide selection of musical events.

‘We now intend to present a series of talks by people who have lived interesting and exciting lives and Alex certainly fits the bill having visited an untold number of countries and filmed characters in far flung places, many whose only priority was to stay alive.’

Alex will talk about his recently published book Blue Peter Behind the Badge — a revealing, behind-the-scenes journey through four decades of Britain’s best loved children’s television programme.
