TWO Okehampton youngsters recently completed a tough challenge to raise money for charity and remember their father.
Ben and Oliver Hancox, aged 10 and 13, completed a 28-mile sponsored bike ride to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of their father, Neil Hancox, who died in May.
The ride took the two plucky brothers along the Tarka Trail from Great Torrington to Barnstaple.
Ben and Oliver's mother, Debbie, said: 'Ben has been so brave since losing his Daddy on May 20 this year, he said to me "I really want to help other people, so they don't suffer like Daddy and to help find a cure from the future."
'That's when he came up with the idea of a sponsored cycle ride.
Ben and Oliver were supported by friends and family during the cycle ride which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and completed with great enthusiasm, despite heavy rain showers.
The brothers managed to raise more than £1,000 and would like to thank everyone who has supported them.
Oliver is already looking forward to his next fundraising challenge as he hopes to sail across the Channel in a 1967 Silhouette later this year.
