A NEW ladies social group has formed in Bridestowe called the Bridestowe Queen Bees.

To celebrate the launch of the group, the ladies held a garden party on June 25 to raise funds for the groups and for Devon Air Ambulance’s landing lights. The ladies made cream teas and cakes and held a raffle.

Bridestowe Queen Bees secretary Trish Butler said: ‘We had a lovely afternoon. The Garden Party was opened by 95 year old George Heathman and was well supported by local residents.

‘We were entertained by Brian Higbee during the afternoon and we raised around £500 to be shared between Devon Air Ambulance Landing Lights and the Bridestowe Queen Bees.’
