THE cast members of the latest production by the Actors of North Tawton have been learning dance steps with a difference in rehearsals.
The amateur dramatic society will be presenting their pantomime 'Treasure Island' in February.
As part of the production the cast will be performing a broom dance. Dartmoor broom dance tutor Sarah Bazeley visited the cast during rehearsals to give them a training session on the traditional dance.
Sarah is one of the creative directors for the Dartmoor Folk Festival, held annually at South Zeal, where the Dartmoor Broom Dance Championships take place each year.
All of the cast took up brooms or mops for the training session, and it is just the latest part of their rehearsals, which started back in November.
The show, directed by Twiggy Lane, promises special effects, songs, and all the traditional fun of a winter panto. The show starts at 7.30pm each night from Tuesday February 14 to Saturday February 18 at North Tawton Town Hall.
Tickets are available from North Tawton Post Office and cost £7 for adults and £4.50 for under 14s.
