A £1,000 building material grant is available to community groups in the Okehampton area looking to update their facilities.

RGB Building Supplies' 'Well Built Community Fund' has already given away £1,000 worth of building materials to a charity, sports club and most recently a primary school. 

The builders' merchant, which has a branch on North Road Industrial Estate, is now asking for community groups based in Okehampton to get in contact and apply for the grant.

The fund is designed to help various groups complete work that they would not have otherwise been able to do. From community centres, youth groups to church halls, RGB wants to welcome all applications.

Community groups can nominate themselves by contacting RGB Building Supplies and explaining what project they need building materials for and how the support will help them. One group will be chosen from all the nominations to receive £1,000 worth of materials.

The closing date for nominations is Monday, December 1.
