IT wouldn't be the same New Year's Day in Hatherleigh without the familiar sight of a number of Walruses dipping into the icy waters in Island Park.

Despite the cold and a chilly wind, more than 20 brave members of the Walrus group splashed about in the cold waters for five minutes to raise money for the benefit of local clubs and organisations.
