AN Olympic torchbearer has appealed to the people of Okehampton for pictures and video of his leg through the town.

François Meston, from Moissac in France, was the first torchbearer to carry the torch into the town on May 21, running from Moorcroft Close to Baldwin Drive, before passing the flame on to Dave Stokes.

Mr Meston has asked anyone who took pictures or video of his leg of the relay if they would be kind enough to forward them to him. He has found it difficult to obtain pictures of the occasion, and would like some to help remember the day. He was wearing number eight on his leg of the relay.
