THE Courtenay Players are still on the lookout for a new director after the success of departing director Roger Partridge's final production.
The amateur dramatic group put on the musical play 'Humbug' in January, and the show was Roger's last as director. He has been involved with the group for 40 years, taking part in his first pantomime, Aladdin, in 1980.
He co-wrote the script and starred as the dame, a role he would continue to play in the annual panto for many years.
Courtenay Players secretary Stan Stormont said: 'The show was a great success for us. Everything went very well and everyone who came along to watch enjoyed themselves. We're all really happy with how it went, and glad things went well for Roger in his last stint as director.'
The group are now looking for a new director to oversee their productions. The players' next production, 'Best of British', will be performed in June, directed by Sheila Gregory.
The group are looking for a director who can oversee the Christmas production in December, and possibly further productions thereafter. They are hoping to find someone with some experience, but will be willing to take on someone with passion and enthusiasm for the group.
They are always happy to accept new members, and are also particularly on the lookout for people who can help build their sets.
