South Zeal Utd 1
Upottery 1
SOUTH Zeal started slowly on Saturday as the visitors long ball tactics put them on the back foot for most of the first half.
South Zeal played some very good football in midfield but were not creating any problems for Upottery in the final third of the pitch .
The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes of the first half when another speculative long ball was won down the left and after a mix up in the South Zeal defence Reg Wonnacott had no chance with the resulting shot from inside the goal area.
South Zeal had more cutting edge in the second half and Harley Cann, Darren Prouse and Redd Cann pushed forward pressurising the Upottery defense as the home side strived for the equaliser.
United drew level mid way through the second half when Harley and Darren exchanged passes down the left the latter providing a low cross for Redd Cann to finish well from close range.
Dominant in the final 20 minutes Zeal could not break the deadlock as the visitors hung on to salvage a point.
