DEVON Biofuels Ltd has just commissioned a new wood pelletizing plant at its base near Okehampton.
This consists of a sawdust drying facility which aims to provide a sustainable quality wood pellet, suitable for wood pellet boilers, animal bedding and cat litter.
Devon Biofuels aims to supply a wood pellet using its own electricity, generating it in a way that will qualify for the new feed-in tariff system, thus reducing production costs and lowering its carbon foot print.
The project was part funded through a grant awarded by Defra, under the Bio-energy Infra-structure scheme — the first major investment in Devon Biofuels Ltd.
The plant was supplied by Farm Feed Systems Ltd, who are workimg closely with Devon Biofuels to ensure a quality product.
Farm Feed Systems are specialists in supplying wood pellet mills for small to medium sized production operations.
