VISITORS came by the score for the opportunity to find out more about Okehampton Camp over the past 150 years at the Dartmoor Military Heritage Weekend.
Walks, displays, activities and the chance to talk to Royal Marines and soldiers of the Rifles who have just returned from Afghanistan were on the itinerary for the event which many cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force took part in.
Cadets demonstrated their skills and old military vehicles climbed the hill to the camp as a reminder of the many soldiers who have trained there.
Weapons and equipment traced the history of combat over the last 200 years while Dartmoor Training Area staff explained why Dartmoor was vital to the military and how the troops care for the national park.
