AUDITIONS for the two lead roles in the eighth film of Chagford Filmmaking Group are taking place this week.

The film is the dark fairytale of Tam Lin. The ancient story, first recorded in Tudor times, recounts the adventures of a feisty young heroine who risks everything for her lover, the mysterious knight Tam Lin.

In contrast to the usual fairytale pattern, the girl saves the boy in the story.

Chagford Filmmaking Group is a non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to preserving the nation's fairytales and folklore through film.

The films have a growing reputation and attract high quality contributors, including an Oscar and a BAFTA winner. Volunteers are well-looked after with lots of homemade cake, and the shoots are fully insured and always produce a fantastic end-of-shoot party.
