THE chaplain to Shebbear College will be taking a giant leap for charity very soon.

The Rev David Hull is to jump out of an aeroplane at 10,000ft to help raise money for the Friends of Ebenezer Child Care, a South West-based charity, which educates 300 children at an orphanage in Zambia.

The children receive schooling, clothes and food on a daily basis. Extra strain has recently been placed on finances by the fact that the World Food Organisation has stopped helping to feed schoolchildren in Zambia, meaning the school currently has to feed its 300 orphans out of its daily budget.

Friends of Ebenezer Childcare have set a target to raise £10,000 to buy farmland near the school so that the project can provide its own food in a self-sustaining way.
