THE Cheeky Monkeys toddler and baby group has belatedly celebrated World Book Day – and raised £75 for the Friends of Okehampton Library.

At their session on March 11, the group sold cakes, and Katy Pratt from Usborne Books had a stall with plenty of colourful books for kids.

The sale of cakes raised £75 which was donated to the library's friends group, which provides activities and resources for the library.

The group lets young children aged nought to five interact, play and build friendships while offering a chance for parents, grandparents and carers to socialise too.

The Cheeky Monkeys toddler and baby group meets on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 11.30am and on Fridays from 1.30pm to 3pm in Fairplace Church Hall during school term time.

There are toys, books and craft, with tea and coffee for adults.
